I used some 1" pvc to carry the condensate away from the tankless and tied the furnace into it too. The exhaust is 3" pvc.

When I re-plumbed the whole house, 2010 plumbing upgrade here, I ran the hot line out of the hot water heater at 3/4" for a while and then necked it down to 1/2". Since this water heater is a recirculating model I wanted that manifold line to stay 3/4" all the way so I had to do a little re-re-plumbing. That's ok, it's better now.

The main reason I wanted a recirculating unit was so there would always be warm water available to the toilet when it gets flushed. I hate a sweaty toilet tank!

When I got done I actually had a leak! It was a really slow drip out of a sharkbite fitting that I'd two blocked against a valve. I didn't think you could make a sharkbite leak. It had a valve on each side of it so it was easy to isolate and only took 10 minutes to put in a longer piece of PEX so there was more clearance.

p.s. A quick note after the first shower: There is plenty of both hot water and water pressure - Yay! I was a little worried about being able to heat water up from 34F or 35F to something hot enough to take a shower with. I left the unit at the 120F it came set at and it works perfectly.
